This, my friends, is the story of our lives. Paul and I met in 1998. I was a junior in high school- a mere 16 years of age. He was a college freshman- and way too old for me at a manly 18. My best friend was dating his best friend, we went on a blind date and our story began.
5 years later, we got married, tried to start a family, failed miserably, gave up and moved on. All of this took approximately 2 years- by 2005, we were living a happy, childless life. We adopted Lukas and Porkchop and traveled a bit- Seattle, Hawaii, Belize.... we were loving our DINK (Dual Income No Kids) status. I learned to sew, knit and crochet, and Paul played lots and lots of golf.
By 2011, most of our friends had gotten married and had kids. We were being left behind, and realized that we really did want to raise a child. Not because we had no childless friends left to take vacations with, but because there was a baby-sized hole in the life we'd created. Thus begins our journey into the realm of IVF- Stay tuned for the next chapter!
